Attuenation is the percentage of the original extract that has been converted (to alcohol, CO2, esters, phenols, etc) through fermentation.
* Apparent attenuation is not correct since the number does not account for the fact that alcohol is lighter than water.
** Real attenuation tries to account for the weight of alcohol by accounting for the lack of alcohol weight in the OG, and the weight of alcohol in the FG.
